Our client, a Philadelphia-based publishing company with 165 employees, has embarked on an evolution to a knowledge workforce from a data dissemination culture. To support this evolution, the organization requires a Human Resources leader with experience in a performance management, goal-setting, planning-oriented environment.



Key responsibilities will include assessing, designing and installing a performance management system, advising the President and other senior executives on methods to promote job evaluations and performance measurement tracking, and creating vehicles for enhanced employee performance. It will be the responsibility of the Director to link the performance management system to the needs and trends identified in the company's strategic plan and to facilitate strategic planning discussions in collaboration with the VP, Planning.



Creating a Career Planning and Succession Planning system will be an important responsibility, as will providing recommendations on organizational, training and employee development.



The selected candidate will manage a Human Resources staff consisting of one professional and two clerical employees. The Director will report to the Senior Vice President for Operations and Administration.



At least seven years experience in a Performance Management role in either an in-house or consulting position is required. An advanced degree in a related field (Performance Technology, Education, Organization Development, Planning, Industrial Relations) as well as exceptional communication skills, persuasive skills, meeting facilitation and coaching experience is also required. Some international HR experience would be a plus.



Compensation is expected to be in the $75,000-$100,000 range plus a full complement of excellent benefits.
